Concept Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid

A new Concept car from porsce was unveild at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The Porsche 918 Spyder is a plug-in concept hybrid sports car that makes no sacrifice among the fuel economy and performance. Outside, looks good, and a new Carrera GT, why will not bore you with details. Porsche says the interior offers an inside glimpse of the automaker’s future.

The 918 Spyder concept combines the features of high-end racing with Electric Mobility to offer a fascinating variety of qualities. For example, it is expected to provide an emission level of only 70 grams of CO2 per kilometer on the fuel consumption of only three liters per 100 km (equivalent to about 78 mpg U.S.), which is truly remarkable, even for a ultra-compact city car. This car, however, intended to offer the performance of a super sports car with acceleration from a standstill to 100 kmh in just 3.2 seconds, top speed of 320km / h (198 mph), and a return on the Nürburgring Nordschleife N in less than 7:30 minutes, faster than even the Porsche Carrera GT.

The 918 Spyder is one of three models of Porsche with Hybrid Drive making its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2010. This trio composed ñ new Porsche Cayenne S SUV Hybrid with full parallel hybrid drive, the 911 GT3 R hybrid race car with electric front axle and a battery of mass flywheel, and high-performance two-seater Spyder 918 with mid engine sports car with plug-in hybrid technology ñ clearly demonstrates not only the high bandwidth of this new technology unit, but also the innovative capacity of Porsche as a true pioneer in hybrid drive.
